M. T. Vasudevan Nair
Born in 1933, in Koodallur, Kerala, M.T. Vasudevan Nair, is possibly the most loved and widely read writer in Malayalam. MT?s literary oeuvre is varied; it includes novels, short stories, screenplays, travelogues, literary criticism and books for children, but the short story is, by his own admission, is MT?s favourite literary form. He has over twenty collections of short stories, written between 1950s to 1990s. MT was awarded the Jnanpith in 1996 and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. He has also received , the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award), the Central Sahitya Akademi Award and the Kerala Jyothi Award in 2023.
